When I dropped Louie and Otis off for their grooming appointment, the groomer asked when they had last been clipped. I responded that I couldn’t quite remember; it had definitely been quite a while. After a quick inspection, the groomer explained they had accumulated a lot of matted hair and would need a much shorter cut than usual. I was perfectly fine with that approach. In fact, a short, practical cut was exactly what I wanted for them. I wasn’t interested in fancy styling, fluffy ears, or a carefully shaped tail. My main concern was making sure they would be comfortable and easy to manage on a daily basis.

The groomer also mentioned that removing the matting would take extra time and could cost more. I understood and was happy to pay if necessary. After all, the boys’ comfort was the most important thing. When I returned to collect them, I was pleasantly surprised. Not only had they done a terrific job, but there was no additional charge. Louie and Otis looked smart, neat, and much happier without all that excess hair. They are already booked in for their next groom in three months, all ready for Christmas.
