At the beginning of this year, I was feeling confident about my freelance work because I had a lot of projects in the works. I thought that if all of these projects were confirmed, I could spend half of my time working on my own product since I wouldn’t have to worry about income.

However, things started to go wrong.

  1. A project for client A that I had intended to convert from WordPress to Filament was cancelled at the last minute. The client decided to renew their maintenance contract and stay on WordPress instead.

  2. Another project for client B that I had proposed with Filament in mind turned out to be out of their budget once they received my quotation. I offered some partnership in exchange, but I did not receive a reply after that.

  3. A donation site project for client C that was based on WordPress was supposed to be converted to Filament, but the discussion was delayed until the end of their financial term.

  4. A huge membership site for client D was using very outdated technology. I sent a quotation with a suggestion to rebuild it based on Filament, but I have not received any news so far.

So far, I have only one new project for March and none for April. If this continues, I will need to take on any work that comes my way in May.
