I weighed myself first thing this morning and these are the updated health/weight stats from my new scales:

Weight: ................. Old = 88.40kg ............... New = 86.85kg
BMI: .................... Old = 25.0 -“High” (just) ... New = 24.6 "Standard"
Body Fat: ................Old = 20.5% - “acceptable” .. New = 13.9% "Fitness"
Muscle Rate: .............Old = 75.6% - “excellent” ... New = 81.8% "Excellent"
Fat-free Body Weight: ... Old = 70.3kg ................ New = 74.8kg
Subcutaneous Fat: ....... Old = 18.0% - “High” ........ New = 11.8% "Standard"
Visceral Fat: ........... Old = 8.0 - “Standard” ...... New = 7.5 "Standard"
Body Water: ............. Old = 57.4% -“Standard” ..... New = 62.2% "Standard"
Skeletal Muscle: ........ Old = 51.4% - “Standard” .... New = 55.6% "Standard"
Muscle Mass: ............ Old = 66.8kg - “Excellent” ...New = 71.0kg "Excellent"
Bone Mass: .............. Old = 3.5kg - “Standard” .... New = 3.7kg "Standard"
Protein: ................ Old = 18.1% - “High” (just) ..New = 19.6% "High!"
BMR: .................... Old = 1736 - “Excellent” .... New = 1985kcal "Excellent"
Body Age: ............... Old = 52 - “High” (just) .... New = 51 "Excellent" (just)

I was thinking, oh shit - those readings seem totally out compared to the last ones - these scales are useless, but I forgot that I changed the app to "Athlete Mode".

Athlete Mode is for users that have a very active lifestyle because their body needs to be calculated differently from the average person. This mode simply lets the scale know to lower fat mass measurements and increase muscle mass measurement values to match the fit lifestyle and body composition of an athlete. It basically, recalibrates the body composition calculations of the scales to the typical behavior patterns of the user.

This will explain the differences between my old and new BMR, muscle mass and body fat readings.  The app says that "athlete mode" should only be used by people doing 6+ hours of intense exercise per week, which aint' me (at the moment anyway) so I will switch that off for the next reading and probably delete this one.
