I initially wanted to try full Vibe Coding for my product weekend, but then I found out it was going to take more time. This is why I’m changing my approach; the AI should be a co-pilot, not the one to lead. I find waiting painful when I tell the AI what I want to do, and then I have to sit and wait for it to complete the task.

So, I am trying to use Zed + AI for this round of vibe coding choices.

  1. I didn’t use Bolt or Lovable because I still prefer building things on my familiar stack, which is Laravel and PHP.

  2. I didn’t use Cursor because I don’t like the interface, although I have some experience with it and have achieved good results.

  3. I am using Zed because I have been using it for all my work. The AI enhancement came pretty late, but it seems to be working well, so I decided to give it a try this round.

I spent around $0.20 on API to convert a screenshot into an HTML page with Tailwind CSS; I would say it was quite worth it. Let’s see how Vibe Coding can help complete my product over this product weekend.
