Washing machine saga

After placing an order for a new washing machine over the weekend, we had hoped that our current washing machine would hold on for a few more weeks. Unfortunately, yesterday, it gave up on us. The once manageable rattle during the spin cycle had now become unbearable, making the machine inoperative. We were left contemplating the idea of either seeking out a laundromat or relying on the generosity of our friends to do our laundry. With the girls back home and everyone’s schedules packed, taking care of our laundry outside the comfort of our home seemed overwhelming and challenging.

In the wee hours of the night, my wife pondered whether we could borrow a washing machine from someone for a brief period of two weeks while we waited for our new one to be delivered. This slight predicament seemed to be weighing heavily on her mind. Suddenly, it dawned on her that our eldest daughter had brought a washing machine when she moved back home. It had been sitting amongst her household belongings in the garage. Tomorrow, we planned to move it inside, connect it to the taps and drains, and finally have the luxury of getting our laundry done without further delay.

Wow, what’s in that garage that you somehow forgot a fully-functioning washer was sitting there as a replacement?

There’s a lot of stuff in the garage, with insufficient room for cars.
