What if... community living

What if we knew our neighbours?
What if our neighbours were our friends?

We’d share meals and laughter.
We’d look out for each other.
We’d share resources.
We’d celebrate each other’s successes,
and in times of sickness or hardship, we’d help each other out.

It would make the hard parts much more bearable,
and the joys bigger.

It would make us less lonely and isolated.

It would make us happier, as we like to help, and being of service feels good.

So what stops us from getting to know our neighbours?

Our need for independence and freedom.
Not wanting to commit to living in a certain place for a while
Not daring to open up and ask for help.
