Writing while disabled

I haven’t been writing much recently. I keep hitting my 100 words per day, but it has at times been a struggle. More of a struggle than usual recently. Yesterday I dropped in a long quote but couldn’t keep going after getting a few of my own words down, which felt like a bit of a cheat. I wanted to write more. I’ve been writing here for almost five years and over that time I’ve been getting more and more disabled. It’s hard to write about this directly, to acknowledge it publicly. I don’t talk much about my problems in my posts, but I think it shows up in patterns over the long run.
It’s really such a small problem with my ear that throws off my balance, not even a whole lot. It feels like motion sickness most days. But over 10 years it’s been enough to completely disrupt my peace of mind where writing this much can be a struggle.
Still, I’m glad to have a reason, even on the bad days, to pull myself together to write down a few words. So I keep pushing forward, 100 words at a time.
When I wrote that I disabled notifications in my upcoming newsletter, Grammarly suggested I change “disabled” to “turned off” to avoid offending anyone.
