YouTube

I’ve been doing YouTube for more than 10 years now. It started with recording Minecraft Videos on my first MacBook Pro with Screenflow (as recording Software) and a Blue Snowball Microphone.

Today I reached the 200th subscriber, and I’m feeling like a little kid. I’m still doing Minecraft videos (mostly) and have been recording other things too (building KITT from Knight Rider with a kit from Fanhome) and tried IRL stuff if I remember correctly.

Besides upgrading Hardware, I’m fundamentally still doing the same “boring” Lets Plays (playing a game and commenting along), but recently with more output again (at least one Video a Day, since September now one Minecraft or Factorio video and one Story game; currently RoboCop). And it looks like the algorithm prefers the daily output.

Interestingly, many YouTubers moved on to way more heavy edited videos, but it looks like “old form” content still has its place, as I think the last 60 subscribers or so have been in the last half year. Also, from time to time, a comment now also shows up. It’s nice having some form of gratification for all those hours playing games, but as written recently, I would still put videos out if nobody watched them. It’s what I did the last 10 years, and it’s one of those hobbies I just can’t go without.

Building KITT from Knight Rider, okay now you have my attention. How’s that one going?

Here is the link to the most recent video. Sadly, the provider (Fanhome) had some delivery issues, and I was missing 4 building groups until recently. Now I’m sitting at 40 or so that still need to be built, but didn’t have the motivation yet.

For some reason, I was picturing a kit that would turn your Tesla into KITT.

Haha, that would be an awesome project.
