A blank calendar

Since working three freelance gigs 8h every day, I’ve come to truly appreciate something I never quite appreciated as much before: the blank calendar.

These days, I feel like I’ve won the day when I manage to squeeze 30min of product work in between gigs. Before this, I squandered my time, even though I was doing 1-2 gigs less. Even though I felt I was already very busy, already doing my daily habits and commits, already working on the same projects.

Somehow, when your free bandwidth per day is now counted in minutes not hours, everything becomes 10x more precious. And you become 10x more disciplined and focused on how to milk that time.

And when the weekend comes, it’s like heaven! A truly blank day ahead.

There’s just nothing quite like real constraints to make you be grateful for something you never noticed.

Absolutely! Once Friday wraps up, I can complete all my freelance tasks and relax in the building over the weekend. Ugh, and here comes Monday again tomorrow.

Hmm, it’s your family’s job to fill up those blank spots in your calendar. Apparently, they’re slacking.

@Winkletter LOL that is exactly what happens to my weekends. It’s blank but all for family.
