A day in distraction

Today was a bit of a haze. I got caught up in tasks I wasn’t planning on working on. I was clearing up my emails when I realized there was a project I wanted to pick up a while back (helping an elderly friend publish his magnum opus). He attempted to publish it before but the formatting was horrendous.

I wondered if I can fix the formatting with AI. It did a TERRIBLE job! So I asked my friend to send over a Word document instead of a PDF. He promptly did and I tried to reformat the text using Google Docs.

But his book is HUUUUUGE! It’s a translation of the Bible and the Quran and lesser known scriptures into rhyming verse plus mystical commentary.

Google Docs struggled to keep up, but formatting was pretty straightforward.

I also spent about 2 hours in discussions with the directors of the startup I’m working with and part of the day in conversation with a colleague about issues she wants me to help resolve.

Add to that a headache, feeling lightheaded, and experiencing slight shortness of breath every now and then and you get a day spent in distraction and in a haze.
