Accept it, change it, leave it

“In any situation in life, you always have three choices: you can change it, you can accept it, or you can leave it.” – Naval
Right now, I need to do all three to go beyond $10k.
-
Accept it: This was the first thing I did. Accept defeat… for now. Accept that I can’t grind like I used to. Accept the trade-off of family survival over personal ambition. Accept that I am stuck. Accept—and fully own—the situation caused by my choices, and even from externalities outside of my control.
-
Change it: Then, after reaching some level of stability, I saw I need to change the situation, from zero bandwidth, to some bandwidth. Being faster, more efficient, will free up time. Chunking the tasks into 30min tasks helps me find pockets of time too. Being more intentional about choosing what type of projects to go for, that suits my current constraints, will go a long way.
-
Leave it: Finally, when the time comes, I got to leave the safe harbour of my freelance gigs. It’ll be a tough choice, because I actually enjoy working with the folks I’m working with. I like them. But at least 1 gig got to go, when a product revenue gets big enough to replace it. I’m not sure which yet… but happy problem, I guess.
Accept it, change it, leave it.
