Action generates data. Thinking doesn't.

They say:
Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can.
I can keep thinking about my $10k/m plans, but all of that is naught because it’s all theory, in my head. Paper tigers.
I won’t know what truly works until I actually act.
Action generates data.
Data informs my next action.
Thinking doesn’t.
Even while I rest now, I can still act. In small ways.
What is the smallest meaningful change you can make? Make it small. Small is achievable. – Tim Ferriss
So yeah…
NO MORE THINKING.
NO MORE PLANS.
No more procrastination masquerading as planning.
The next time I talk about $10k/m, it will be about something I’ve already built.
Putting this out here for personal and social accountability.
Onwards!

I like the term you used there, thinkaholic. I am the same. Perfectionism + needing to please others (subconsciously) + maybe fear of failure all make for the worst combination keeping me from ACTION. Ideas are worthless without execution.

Action is very important, but I would not discount being intentional about what you want first. I would suggest focusing on what outcome you want, how it feels, and how you look and act when you achieve it, and have less focus on the “how.”

@Winkletter I’m a thinkaholic too. Sometimes I find the daily writing tends to encourage that. So trying to be more mindful now, and stick to writing to clarify not procrastinate.
@drodol That formula is the bane of every indie hacker, agree! Had to tackle them one by one too on my journey, and still tackling
@therealbrandonwilson I like the nuance you shared. Can see the manifestation course doing it magic on you! ;) Yes, I think setting intention is important. Intention > procrastination disguised as thinking

The title says everything. This is still hard for me to do because I’m a thinkaholic, but this is the superpower the most successful people have. They act in order to perceive, and thus can see what actions are open.
