Adaptability

Adaptability is a beautiful and amazing thing.

What was hard mode in January is now cruise mode in August.

I remember how I struggled with juggling three jobs at the start of the year (even 5 last year!), and ended up burning out midway through the year. I remember how I had to keep encouraging myself, that I’ll get the hang of it and things will settle… after a while.

“A while” took eight months. Now—wow—it feels calm. Calm enough that I can squeeze in new challenges like travel, learning to drive, starting a new SaaS, planning to the ultimate move out of Singapore.

We fall, we flail, we keep going, we adapt.
Rinse, repeat.
Through the days, weeks, months.
The days are long, but the years are short.
Our baseline threshold goes up.

Until one day, the things we wished sooo so hard for back then is now our new normal.

A moment of gratitude for that.

Impermanence is true not just for good things, but also bad or challenging things.

Grateful grateful grateful.
