AI hollow out

What AI does is to hollow out the middle average. Everyone and everything in the middle of that bell curve, gone.

For jobs in general:
On one end of the spectrum, hands-on, high empathy kind of work, like nursing, will stay. Humans want empathy and care from other humans, not a bot.
On the other end of spectrum, highly creative or highly intelligent, phD level rocket science sort of work that AI can’t ever do.
Everything else in between?
Gone.

Maybe not the best examples but bear with me. (Or point out better ones)

For devs:
On on end of the spectrum, the hands-on, ‘plumbing’ kind of work fixing up hardware and software, that no AI can do. AI still can’t assemble it’s own GPU servers.
On the other end of spectrum, highly creative or highly intelligent, phD level sort of work like AI research work, that AI can’t ever do themselves.
Everything else in between?
Going… gone.

Because AI can do middle average very very well. And do it 24/7, never needing a toilet break, a vacation, sick leave, or ask for a promotion. It never has motivation or attitude problems.

So if your job is just performing average work day in, day out, BEWARE.

You need to sprint straight towards either end of the spectrum that your career is on.

No matter what you do, don’t stay still.
