AI risk, for real this time

Here we go again. Except this time it’s for real.

AI risk is right at my doorstep.
My only semi-successful project, Jason’s Plugins For Carrd, might be in danger of becoming obsolete.
Because the same customers who download my plugins might just be the same people who can now use Claude and ChatGPT to spin up their own Carrd plugins. Plugin users who are generally somewhat familiar with some code. Basic HTML, CSS and Javascript. The hard part before was coding it out from nothing. Editing is easier than generating. So that was where my plugins come in. But now, AI does that in an instant.
Not gonna lie, I do that same! Most of my plugins are built in less than a day, using AI. The hardest part was coming up with the idea. The time-consuming part is marketing it. Coding it right now, is an almost throw-away task. The value I can still bring post-AI, is customization, debugging, answering questions, coaching.
Not sure how big this group of customers are. There would still be those who can but won’t - users who are not interested in fiddling with the code, or learning. But I won’t be surprised if the demand for plugins start going down. Already, the monthly referral fees seem to be showing some signs of plateauing… I’m not totally sure. Must continue to monitor.
But the writing is on the wall:
I’m gonna need another boat.
