An unexpected transaction

For the past three days, I've had a general contractor at my house doing repairs. Just in case I forget about the joys of homeownership, circumstances show up to remind me. Actually, the issues have been lingering for a while. I still had not fixed the ceiling in my master bathroom where I had the roof leak last year. There was some water damage on the drywall at the bottom near the shower door. The drywall also had cracks in the hallway. Finally, one of the exterior house panels came loose. My partner shared all the pictures with a contractor she found online, and he said No problem; I'll take care of it. 

Normally, we would get several quotes. His quote was reasonable for the work--about $650. We decided to go with him to get it done. He did a fantastic job. He's very meticulous, and he even fixed some items he found that we did not report. We couldn't be happier with the results, so I was taken aback when my partner told me that he was refusing payment. 

I knew he was finishing up the job today, so I took the opportunity to ask him about his unusual position of essentially doing charity work. Even after I told him we were more than willing to pay him, he continued to refuse. He said he's retired and has been blessed. He loves the work, and the smiles on his customers' faces are enough for him. He was not kidding!  He puts any extra money he gets from these jobs into a fund to take all the grandkids on a big vacation once a year. I was shocked that I had to practically twist his arm to accept some money, at least for materials. 

 I explained that our transaction exists beyond the physical in an energetic realm, and from a karmic perspective, we want to close the loop by offering something in return. I gave him a pack of V-Daily and promised him I would do body scans for him and his wife. I also gave him some cash so he would at least be made whole on the materials.

What a pleasant surprise to meet such a kind soul.
