Back in the desert

I am back home after a whirlwind trip, which you will learn more about in tomorrow's newsletter. My sleep deprivation and less-than-optimal eating have finally caught up with me. It was fun while it lasted.

This morning I was up at 4 AM EST to return the rental car and go to the airport. My brain was mush. I got turned around and had to backtrack to return the car. While waiting at the gate, I spilled my coffee. It was not the best start to travel day. The first flight was a bit delayed, which left me virtually no time for my connection. I exited the plane when my next flight started boarding, and I had to run to another concourse. I made it, but I was seated near the back of the plane due to Southwest's open boarding policy.

I had disjointed sleep on the plane. At least I arrived at mid-morning, giving me the day to recuperate. I took a rare nap to get caught up on sleep, and then I worked on my newsletter.

I enjoyed spending time with some of my favorite people. I look forward to the day when travel isn't so tight, and I don't have to rush back home to get back in front of that damn work laptop.
