Balls to MRR

Here’s my November MRR chart:

Yes I know, it’s not a picture of my revenue chart.
Yes it’s intentional.

Because this is the real riches.

Because revenue is nice but ball pits are better.

Because this is the only thing that truly matters.

Because even though I’m struggling financially right now, I know I will remember our time in the ball pit years later, than the stress of making ends meet.

Because even though I do need money right now, this puts it in perspective the why.

Because now, at the tail end of my cash runway, I need to tell this to myself even more. That money, riches, material assets, will come and go. But we will remember how we felt. You know like how, we often don’t remember what exactly you were arguing about with someone, but you remember how he/she made you feel? That’s exactly it.

I don’t want this period of my fatherhood—and my son’s early life—to be marred by money woes. Maybe it already did, but I’m trying my best to shield him from it.

To shield us from it.

That’s why the ball pit.

Because every time there’s a ball pit, I win. He wins. We all win.
