Biohacking heat

Seriously, the heat in Singapore is going from bad to worse. 30ºC heat in 80% humidity feels like 35ºC. It went from bearable ten years ago to borderline heat stroke levels now. We can’t go on business as usual and deal with it the same way, and my wallet has limits to using air conditioning in the day on top of all night.

How can I biohack the hell out of this? Some research:

  • Dehumidifier - reduce moisture, reduce heat
  • Use solar window films to reflect sunlight, especially in the room facing east
  • Keep windows closed till sunrise to keep cooler air in
  • Try pointing a fan outward through a window on the leeward side of the home to pull hot air out
  • Use air circulators fans to move air instead of blowing at me
  • Don’t air laundry indoors - adds to moisture
  • Switch to LED bulbs to reduce heat
  • Take 1-2 cold showers during the day
  • Get new portable fans that uses cooling metal tech to cool the air
  • Switch on air conditioning when all else fails

What else what else?

Comments

Keep heat from cooking compact and isolated. Air fryer for solid foods. Thermal cooker for boiling, soups, or stews.
