Blank slate

Maybe being boring and unexciting is good. But for reasons you don’t realise.

Boring and unexciting is a blank slate.

A boring, unexciting city might be meh, but it’s a blank slate for you to find the interesting and fun people in it to make things fun.

A boring, unexciting house might be meh, but it’s a blank slate for you to furnish it in whatever way you want to make it into a tasteful home.

A boring, unexciting job might be meh, but it’s a blank slate for you to live it in whatever way you want to outside of it to make it a life worth living.

The boring, unexciting part is the medium.

It’s the dirty soil holding the tree.
It’s the water keeping fish alive.
It’s the air where wild birds soar.

The boring, unexciting is the base, the start.
They make no decisions for you, no promises, nothing.
They just prop you up enough for you to do those things yourself.

Now, your turn.
