Busy busy busy

It’s full-on consulting this week and for the next 1-2 months! Juggling 3 different gigs, 3-4 days per week of workshops. On top of that, I got my products to maintain, code to push, words to write… I got my work cut out for me in the next months.

BUT I can’t complain. The work is coming in at a critical juncture of my financial situation. I pretty much took on whatever that came my way, even if I normally wouldn’t in the past. To be honest, the financial situation still feels desperate, but I feel like I can breath a little now, at least.

This is the time when I’m truly grateful to do my 1 commit a day challenge with a bunch of committed folks over at Commit365.

Because I would probably never touch code (and have zero progress for weeks to months) if not for it.

It’s better to have 1 commit a day—no matter how small—than to have zero progress for months and lose momentum entirely. It’s that easy. Already I’m seeing folks drop out after the 1 month mark, or over the Chinese New Year period. Yeah it’s easy to ride on the enthusiasm of a new year to commit to a new habit, but it takes about 1 month or so for the novelty to wear off and it starts feeling like hard work. That’s when most people will drop off.

It ain’t easy. But good things require hard work.

It’ll be worth it.

This is inspiring. I am one of those that has fallen off the wagon, but I will surely get back on.

Keep on grinding Jason!
