Cages

“If you have a big enough cage, you never know you’re in one.” – @thefallenpoe.t
Cages are getting sophisticated in design recently.

If you’re in a job you dislike but not uncomfortable enough to leave and just comfortable enough to get to the weekend, you live in a cage.
If you’re working 14h days every day, all week, all month, all year, and have no time to break out of your grind even though the money is nice, you live in a cage.
If you’re smart and intellectual, and convinced yourself that your idea is too good to execute imperfectly and hurriedly, you live in a cage.
If you’re proud of delivering clean code but your customers are not developers, you live in a cage.
If you enjoy luxury, eat good food, likes entertainment, nice car, nice condo, travels a few times every year, but has zero savings and no investments, you live in a cage.
The most sophisticated cages are of your own design. We call them home. We live it. We normalize it as our lifestyle, or just life.
You’ll never know you’re in one.
