Close colleagues

In every workplace I’ve worked in, I usually have a select group of colleagues with shared values and ambitions that I connect with. I’m good with everyone I work with, but there’s always a small circle of close colleagues.

This is especially important, in my opinion, for ambitious folk working a government job where the common culture does not encourage ambition and many people play politics.

With my small circle, we tend not to care about politics. We understand it. We observe it. But we don’t engage in it. We want to produce quality work. We want to live and work by our values, not to have our souls drained the culture around us.

What are your work dynamics? Do you have colleagues you connect with?
