Close your open loops

The number one silent killer stressor in our modern adult lives is open loops.

Open loops are:

  • That broken toilet seat you’ve been meaning to fix for the past year.
  • That important chat message that you were too busy then to reply but now too long ago to restart the conversation.
  • That item you added to your shopping cart on an app that you said will come back to.
  • That debt still unpaid to your close friend.
  • That to-do task that you’ve been recycling through multiple to-do lists already.
  • That medical check-up you’ve been procrastinating on, due to costs… or fear.
  • That project idea you mull about over free time, but it was never the right time…

I think open loops is my top silent stressor too.
All too easy to fall into it as a parent, husband, son.
It multiplies exponentially the more roles you got.

Gotta close all those fking loops.

Or re-frame an open loop as something that is not important at this moment.

I opened this post in a separate window so I can read it after writing my post(s) for the day, but I quickly checked my email inbox between writing and reading and saw this email pop-up in my inbox. 🤣

@therealbrandonwilson True, and strike it off instead of holding on to it
