Comfortable lies

Most people don’t fear the truth – they fear losing the lies that keep them comfortable.

Fk. That’s so true, it stings.

Most of the time—at least for me—breakthroughs come from stopping the lies I know I tell myself, not facing truths I wan’t aware of. As always, growth from trimming away, not adding on.

Lies like:

• Somebody’s already done it. My idea has to be something unique.
• Just keep building features. Build and they will come.
• I’ll just launch on Product Hunt and that’s marketing done.
• Build in public is necessary for success.
• Having an audience leads to success.
• Intensity alone is sufficient.
• Consistency alone is sufficient.

No more comfortable lies.
