Consistency loops

Time hop gave a little peek back at my progress again.

From “failure to launch… I made 7 plugins recently, but launched only 1!” in March 2023 to 12 plugins in 12 months.

In the end, setting a regular rhythm for a challenge was the key.

I think this is what I’m good at. Setting up a system for consistency loops. And then just heads down, be a machine.

Instead of just a broad (vague) goal like “Do the less savoury work of launching and marketing”, I went with specifics:

  • Contribute to communities, gather ideas for plugins.
  • Use ideas to build 1 plugin per month.
  • Launch it in a set of selected channels - I started out with a handful only.
  • Add +1 new channel every month to experiment - now I launch to 40 different places.

If you generalize it for a SaaS, this is how the consistency loop looks like:

  • Do customer support, get feedback from customers
  • Based on feedback, build new feature or improve existing one.
  • Launch new feature to customer community, and on selected channels.
  • Experiment with new channels to reach more customers.
  • Rinse and repeat till $10k MRR

Works right?
