$16k indie revenue for 2023

A bit of throwback from time hop: I only made $6k from all my indie products in 2022.

Just did my taxes for 2023, and this time, I made $16k!

That’s a 260% increase, baby! 🎉🎉🎉

In fact, the year-on-year progress looks even nicer! In 2021, my combined revenue from Lifelog and Plugins was just $2k. So it’s:

2021: $2k
2022: $6k
2023: $16k

And with that, I have officially crossed the mythical $1k revenue mark that many indies wish for. After 4 long years of being serious about indie hacking.

This ain’t no rocket ship, and that ain’t MRR.

It’s more of a sail boat. Small, steady, moves with the trade winds, but gets to places… eventually.

Taking a moment here to celebrate! 🍻

Side note:

  • By the way that $16k is also not including my other revenue from consulting (no way I can feed a family on $16k per year!).
  • And $16k is not all subscription revenue. I got some MRR from Lifelog but it’s mostly one-time payments from my Carrd plugins. Non-recurring revenue. But so far, it’s been pretty stable, so fingers crossed! 🤞

Comments

👏 Definitely worth a celebration! Persistence pays off! I’m happy to have been along for the ride.

That’s the power of compounding results from consistent work. calculating… calculating… In two years you’ll be making six digits.

@therealbrandonwilson thanks buddy!

@Winkletter I hope so too haha. That’s with the assumption that the Carrd plugins market is big enough to bring that
