Driving lessons V: Driving on anyway

New writing theme: Writing life lessons from my driving lessons.
This time, it’s about not knowing but driving ahead anyway.
One of the harder parts of learning to drive: Driving on the open road without a driving license (but with an instructor of course).
The first time my instructor asked me to do it, it was just my 3rd lesson. I was like, you sure?!
But onward we did. And it was thrilling. Sooo thrilling, I couldn’t sleep at bedtime because I have night lessons and the adrenaline was still pumping away.
Driving on the open road without a license is a special kind of zone. You know you can potentially kill someone if you did sudden, fast, unexpected maneuverers. But you know the probability of that happening is slim as you got an experienced instructor right beside you to brake on your behalf if you did. But yet you didn’t feel you know what you’re doing, but you’re going ahead to do it anyway.
So definitely out of my comfort zone, but not out of my safety zone. So the fear is mostly subjective.
That’s kinda like how we indie hack, take career pivot, switch jobs, or marry someone. We don’t really know how to do it, if it will pan out the way we see it, if it’s even worth it on hindsight!
But we’re just gonna drive on anyway.
F**k around and find out.
There’s a special thrill in that, and that’s why I’m a entrepreneur, an indie hacker.
