Earn money have fun

Life goals: I’ve given up on making a difference to the world. Now I just wanna earn money, have fun.
That’s it.
Don’t know if it’s a life stage thing.
Or life experience thing.
Or simply just fatigue speaking.
But the evidence is clear.
- Much of the effort in my youth to “change the world” has had limited impact.
- The system is much more stubborn than you got years in your life for.
- Most of the time people don’t want change they just want bread and circus.
- Despite our stellar records, the public institutions don’t always care for the margins or the individual – they care about the economy, the country, the results.
- Much of doing good is about feeling good, about oneself and one’s life choices.
- Society often rewards not those who do good but those who make money (for them).
Jaded much? Perhaps.
But I call it inference from countless observation data points over decades of work.
I’ve done my time out in the field.
Now I just want to enjoy the harvest.
Earn money have fun.

@Winkletter Oh shoot you’re right. That’s a built-in safety mechanism I guess.
Thanks for the inspiration from yesterday that led to this post dude!

Makes sense to me. Why should we let the kiddies have all the fun?

If changing the world was easy, the world would be in chaos. We need more people earning money and having fun.
