Entrepreneurship is the hardest thing

entrepreneurship is the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my entire life – @rafal_makes
Damn that hit the nail.
Okay fatherhood is even harder, but I’ll just keep to work related things.
Entrepreneurship is definitely the hardest ever ‘job’ or vocation I’ve ever tried. Everything pales in comparison.
The hard parts for me:
- Skills: Learning new skills from ground zero, like coding, design, marketing, ads, sales, social media etc. Each one in and of itself is a fulltime job, but as a solopreneur I got to have at least some basic understanding of everything!
- Intuition: Learning to sense opportunity and knowing when and how to pursue it.
- Uncertainty: Being comfortable with ambiguity, not ever knowing whether a product will work out or not.
- Conviction: Entrepreneurship is the biggest marshmallow test of delayed gratification I’ve ever participated in. How long can you hold off needing to see results before you give up?
- Balance: In the midst of all these challenges, how do you stay balanced and not over-work and burnout? Staying sane and realistic in the present when thinking through your business, while also feeling optimistic and idealistic about a better future, is a darn hard high wire act.
So what do you find hard about entrepreneurship?
