First day in Sharjah

As some of you already know, my son is studying in Sharjah. I’m visiting him for 5 days to help him study and make sure he has a good system in place for the finals. But it seems like he’s already running behind and he won’t have time to go through all the material before the exams. 🥲

I hope he’s able to develop some study skills that will help him bump his results up. Med school is not easy and there’s a LOT of material to go through! Being bright has its dark side: my son was able to coast through school without studying, but uni is a whole different beast.

We’ll see how it goes!

I forgot to mention something: I opened Lifelog and it showed that I had already written for the day, but I was sure that I didn’t. But since I wrote yesterday’s post close to midnight Kuwait time, Lifelog is seeing it as (now) being today, Sharjah time! I’m glad it doesn’t count it as a loss of my streak (since I’ve not written a post yesterday, in Sharjah time). 😂

I’m going to ignore the time-shifting, streak-saving shenanigans. Can he use ChatGPT to help compress time and get high-impact study time in?

@therealbrandonwilson No shenanigans to save my streak. I wrote yesterday’s post close to midnight, Kuwait time. When I arrived in Sharjah today, Lifelog considered yesterday’s post to be today’s, given the 1 hour time different.

As for ChatGPT: I’m sure he can. There’s also a site called jungle.ai that can help him create study material based on the slides from his professors. NotebookLM might also be able to help create such study material, but I’ve not used it beyond creating podcasts. He has a quiz tomorrow and he’s tight for time, so I’m not going to suggest any new study strategies. Tomorrow we’ll explore ways to harness AI. Thanks for the suggestion!
