Fishing in the right spot

What do profile pictures, boilerplate, directories, link-in-bio, daily writing, newsletters, and Telegram chat groups have in common?

They are B2C vitamins I made which didn’t make much money, if at all.

What do design consulting, Carrd plugins have in common?

They are B2B painkillers I made which made good amounts of money solving real problems for business owners, companies and government.

The B2C vitamins… those are hard to find product-market fit, customers are not always easy to find, and just not very necessary.

The B2B painkillers, when done well, is easier to find product-market fit, it’s easier to identify who the customer is, and is much needed for solving actual practical problems.

I think I’m too guileless for B2C vitamins.

Case in point: The universe threw me a viral B2C vitamin recently and I was totally clueless and naive what to do with that hot potato. Someone with more trickster energy would have been able to ride that viral wave to a profitable product.

Looking back at my career history and personality, I’m probably more suited for straightforward, honest B2B painkiller ideas. They have problem X, you bring solution Y. You do it, they pay you. Done. Direct. Linear. Transactional. Fair exchange. Easy.

So I think I’m fishing in the wrong spots.

I think I should fish in B2B painkiller waters for a bit…
