Freelance anniversary

Time Hop showed me that it’s been one year since I started freelancing as a frontend web dev.
Time flies.
It’s funny how career transitions go. I mean, I never expected to stay in one job forever, but working on Rails frontend was not on my bingo card for 2024. Or ever. I expected to keep consulting for government till I can go fulltime in indie hacking.
But this is one of those unexpected careers which was not just timely but actually welcomed.
I’m learning so much from working in the trenches of a relatively new tech startup – AI, coding, marketing, SEO, productivity. The ins and outs of what to prioritise, when to prioritise. Lots of cross-over learning for my indie hacking. And with a great team at that. Lovely work, lovely team - can’t ask for more.
But I am aware of the fact that freelance is not forever. Some day perhaps the startup might no longer need me. Or some day, I might need to focus on my products and go fulltime indie hacking. The latter is the preferred scenario, of course. Sooner than later, of course.
But impermanence is the ever-present reality.
And thus I need to act accordingly.
Onwards!
