Full-on marketing mode

🎶 It’s the most wonderful time of the year… 🎼 for indie hackers.

Yeah it’s a nice time for indies if you got a good offer that people are snapping up. Nothing like the sound of the cash register going off in your phone ka-ching ka-ching ka-ching.

Between coding and marketing I’ll always choose coding and building, but I flip the script during Black Friday/Cyber Monday. It’s full-on marketing mode.

I find it’s a good opportunity to experiment with pricing, try out new marketing hacks, and do stuff that I might otherwise feel somewhat iffy about the rest of the year. The good thing is it’s all timeboxed to a week, so there’s a definite cut-off to all the marketing (which makes it bearable).

That’s why I’ve been so busy shipping marketing hacks, not much time on building Lists Kit and had to stop altogether on my Side Project Weekend for Lifelog.

A few years ago I would have struggled with any form of self promotion.

Now look what I just shipped - a listing of Black Friday deals that’s Carrd-related. All shipped within two hours.

Good to see progress!
