Fun at the lab

When you enter the lobby of the lab, it's not exactly a party in there. You've got a mostly older, frailer crowd waiting to get lab work done. I was probably the youngest person in the waiting room today.

I had a different phlebotomist today, and she seemed to have an issue getting the line in. She poked both arms before she finally settled on my left hand, which was more uncomfortable than the usual spot. Thankfully, she got the blood she needed. I ended the visit with a trip to the restroom to provide a urine sample. Good thing I drank enough water.

I don't know how it works with women, but for guys, it starts with washing hands. Then they have wet wipes to be used to clean the head of the penis. They want a "clean" sample, which means you start peeing in the bowl first, then fill the cup (at least 1/2 full). Afterward, the instructions said I should place the sample in a compartment behind a door, where I saw other samples waiting. I thought that was odd, but this is how it's done.

Hopefully, in about a week I'll have my full results, and then I can schedule the appointment with the new doctor.
