Giving your ideas (or your business) legs

“Build it and they will come” is one of the biggest lies in the business world. It’s also what leads smart people to get confused about why the world functions the way it does.

“My ideas are great! They are useful! Why am I not getting the attention I deserve, dammit!?”

That’s because people can’t sniff out good ideas and know where they are. Humans don’t have this ability. Ideas don’t have a gravitational force that pulls people towards them. That’s not how ideas work, either.

If you want your ideas (or your business) to get attention, you have to bring the attention to them. Or you have to take your ideas (and your business) to people. Give your ideas (and your business) legs.

Promote them. Find the right people for them. Communicate their benefits.

Don’t create something and wait for people to come. They won’t. You have to bring them.
