Goals vs costs

I’m a goals guy. Always loved setting them, having them, chasing them. Since my teen years, I’ve had goals.
But frankly, the missing piece in that habit was always costs.
And learning about the costs while pursuing a goal was always the hard part of the pursuing.
Because dreaming up and writing down goals is easy. All too easy. I love daydreaming, and imagining. So it comes at low—or even zero—costs.
But trying to bend reality around to achieve said lofty goals, is so hard. Sooo hard.
Time.
Money.
Youth.
Emotions.
Soul.
I’ve spent them all. Sometimes, along the way I learn about the true costs of a goal, and I find I am no longer willing to pay.
So now, my goals always come with a “but”.
I want to hit $10k MRR, but without sacrificing family time, health and sanity.
I want to build a profitable, successful SaaS, but I don’t want to burn out from it.
I want to achieve financial freedom and location independence, but on my own terms.
The “but” is the costs where beyond which you are unwilling to pay.
Everyone has a price.
So does costs.
