Goodbye gov

I just sent my last ever invoice to the government invoicing platform Vendors@gov.

It’s been a nice decade with the Singapore Government as a client.

We had good times when I started. Design was in super high demand. It was the shiny fad of the day, the talk of the town. Everyone needed and wanted design thinking. There were lots of projects to go around. I worked hard to get some of those projects, worked even harder at delivering them. And I earned more than I ever imagined, during those boom years. So much so that, I had to go diva mode and start turning away opportunities. With those monies, I did much - got married, had a flat, brought parents to travel, and the surplus even helped me last through the difficult past few years.

But things have changed now. The market had changed. They changed. I’ve changed too. And it’s time to move on.

Thanks for feeding the fam all this time, my most enduring client. And please keep doing good. I just can’t be part of it anymore.

Goodbye and godspeed 🏁

Wohoo! To many more opportunities ahead that are aligned with your ambitions and desired lifestyle 🍻

(That’s iced tea, btw. I don’t drink 😜)
