Haze is back

Every year around this time, we learn that access to clean air is not a given.

That our airspace is not our air.
That what others countries do or fail to do affects us too.
That even something as simple as breathing air belongs not to you.

Very testing.
Very humbling.
Very frustrating.

This practice of interdependent origin is a hard practice.

And I can imagine this gets ten times worse when we move to Chiangmai with its infamous burning season, with AQI in 300-400 range.

The only way, it seems, is do as the Thais do. Just mai pen rai (“No problem”) and sabai sabai (“Take it easy”), and get on with life, work around it.

Endure with grace and grit.
