Holding paradoxes

This being indie solopreneur is about being able to hold paradoxes.

To grind hard for a future payoff, even when it’s zero customers and zero revenue now.

To be radically optimistic about the future but also realistic—even pessimistic—about the present.

To know that your hunch about the market opportunity is right, even though everyone else is telling you how stupid it is.

To move forward like you know everything—therefore the popular adage “Fake it till you make it”—even though you know there’s a lot of gaps in your knowledge, plugged only by hope and faith that you can figure it out along the way.

To wear all the many hats required of you like you’ve done it before—designer, developer, marketer, salesman, showman, influencer, accountant, even cleaner—even though you have never done them before.

Hold two opposing truths is hard.

This ability is a rare skill.
