Hopium

You’ve heard of copium.

That fictional drug on the internet made from “cope” and “opium”, that people take to deal with cognitive dissonance, failure, loss, disappointment, frustration.

Annoying af. I hate that word.

I prefer hopium.

A medicine made from “hope”.
To heal, to inspire, to motivate.

What gives you hope, brother?
What helps you wake up in the morning?
What do you look forward to?
What gives you a sense of anticipation?
What’s make you think about the future?

Do you keep a list of these things and people?

For me, travel does that for me. It gives me something to look forward to in life. Building new projects used to do that for me, until I got so burned out I am numb now.

In this day and age… we need a list of hopium all the more.

It’s way too dark outside.

I had never heard of copium, but I like your spin on it.
