Horse for sale

I’m doing a hard reset for Lists Kit landing page. Back to basics.

A Twitter friend @_lhermann said of his product @stagetimerio - if your product is a simple as a horse, don’t write “Get faster from A to B”, simply write “Horse for sale”.

Honestly, Lists Kit’s just a simple website template, so why bother with all the fancy copywriting? I’m going with just “Your HTML template for info directories”.

I think that should work for now, until I figure out my customers and positioning.

But there’s a purity and simplicity and honesty to the “horse for sale” concept which is so refreshing. I love it. It’s so straightforward, for a straightforward product. It’s direct. It’s honest. It doesn’t try to couch the product in flowery words and smooth talk.

It reminds me of this meme about bullshit jobs:

I <verb> <thing>. S.I.M.P.L.E.

If I were to try the 3 words thing for Lists Kit, it would be:

It makes directory websites.

Not quite 3 words, but close enough.
