I’m very excited to be hosting the Mindful Habits Challenge for the Ness Labs community in October!

If you’re not familiar with Ness Labs, it’s a community that Anne-Laure Le Cunff started to promote mindful productivity. Anne-Laure did a challenge in 2019 to publish a blog post every day for 100 days, covering topics that related to mindful productivity and better understanding how our minds work. She also helped make several “tools for thought” such as Roam Research and TiddlyWiki more accessible for those struggling to make sense of these tools.

Some of her blog posts reached the first page of Hacker News and became popular in “tools for thought” communities, which led to a growing number of followers and community members.

My goal with the challenge is to encourage self-love and self-understanding by figuring out better ways we can individually develop our habits. If you’re not already a member of Ness Labs, I highly encourage you to sign up and take part in the challenge.

Let me know if you have any questions, and if you’re a member of Ness Labs already. 😃

I saw on Twitter! Was excited for you. So what exactly are you doing by “hosting”?

Sounds very interesting Haider. Tell us more about if you can. How many days and what exactly goes into this challenge? Any payment involved etc…

@jasonleow @keni Thanks! It involves a daily blog post about habit building (some of which include suggested exercises), as well as weekly live sessions. The key principle is this: if it feels like an extra commitment, you are encouraged to reduce the level of commitment. It should feel super easy to join and not at all challenging.

Any member of the Ness Labs community can join the challenge at no extra charge, and membership is $9 for a month and $49 for a year. 😃

@haideralmosawi nice! Love that it’s about daily blogging haha. And your role in this is to coach them in habit building?

jasonleow  •  25 Sept 2021, 11:23 pm

@jasonleow Oh sorry, I mean I will write a daily blog post. Participants will just read it and do the recommended exercise (if any). So I’m guiding participants on how to think about habit-building through the blog posts and weekly live sessions.
