One of the best health decisions one can make is eliminating soda and sugary drinks. Most of these drinks contain high fructose corn syrup, which is harmful for multiple reasons. You are basically mainlining sugar into a system that has not evolved to handle the quantity of sugar in that format (liquid fructose). While zero-calorie "diet" drinks don't have fructose or calories, they do have artificial sweeteners, which have their own deleterious effects. On top of the damage to the body, you have the damage to the wallet.

I was at Target yesterday and walked by this sign advertising a supposed sale on Coca Cola:

I pick on Coca Cola because my friend Steve used to work for the company, and we both used to consume the products regularly. Twenty years ago, the best deal you could get was five 12-packs for $10. The more common deal was four for $10.

Let's do some math. A 12-pack of 12 oz cans is 144 oz x 4 = 576 oz for $10.

The "sale" listed at Target is offering two 10-packs of mini-cans for $12. Mini-cans are 7.5 oz, so a 10-pack is 75 oz x 2 = 150 oz for $12. I have no way to describe this other than highway robbery.

Don't tell me you don't have money to spend on supplements or any other biohacks if you are still consuming soda.
