iPhone 18 Pro is in the house

It's always a good day when a new Apple product arrives. Apple is always so gracious to release products around my birthday (9/21), so I guess the iPhone 18 Pro is my gift to myself. 

I was in and out of the Apple store in less than 15 minutes. They've got it down to a science now. Rather than scan my QR code, they had me scan a QR code, which summoned a mysterious employee from the back room who promptly appeared with the glacier iPhone 18 Pro. 

They've also streamlined upgrading from a previous phone. You put the two phones near each other and use the old phone to scan a quantum-looking image, and it kicks off the information transfer. I deliberately cleaned out files and freed up almost 70 GB to speed things up; the process took around 30 minutes.

First, I would say the speed bump is definitely noticeable compared to the iPhone 15 Pro. That's my favorite aspect so far. I haven't put the camera through its paces yet, but I'll be using it soon. 

I'm looking forward to seeing how smart Siri will be with the new Apple Intelligence features. ChatGPT and Claude have set a high bar, and Apple has been playing catch-up.

For now, time to play with the new toy!
