January 2024 goals

It’s easy to want to jump straight into action at the start of a new year, like all the New Year resolution wishfuls crowding in the gym in the first week of January.

I don’t want to start the year crowding out my mind with big ambitions and massive to-dos. Instead, I want to start by listening.

Listen to what the body needs. Being embodied.

Listen to my stress and anxiety, and what needs to be removed.

Listen to what my products need, to the customers, the market.

Listen to what needs to be planned and worked on, for the year ahead.

Listen, so that I can set myself up for success, or whatever that I need this year.

The key point is not to listen to respond, but to listen to hear. Truly hear. Response not always required. Action not mandated. Only hearing to understand. To deeply understand.

Just listen.

Listen.

I like this very much. Someone a while back recommended me a book on this topic, but I need to look for it. I am looking forward to reading what you find come February.

@knight Yes haha. I definitely SEO optimised this post for “listen” keyword

@drodol Thanks! The “not listen to respond, but to listen to hear” is adapted from Stephen Covet’s 7 Habits of Highly Effective People… were you thinking of that one?
