January 2025 goals

Day 1. How you start matters, because that’s how you end up.

But also, Day 1 doesn’t matter, because every day is Jan 1st.

Holding two opposing thoughts as I go into this new year, new season. Because that’s how 2025 will be - holding opposing thoughts, handling conflicting needs.

Work hard, but also rest well.
Wake at 5am, but also sleep enough.
Be productive and prolific but don’t work late.
Go all in for $10k/m, but also stay present to family.
Experiment, but also exploit.
Work for client, but also work for myself.
Survive, but also thrive.

And I’m greedy, I want both worlds.

But I used to just gravitate towards one side. Usually the work side… so I really want to balance things better.

So this is the intention for Jan - to start my year at a better balance than last year.

Balance, it is.

I’d like to suggest a different perspective on the “conflicting needs”: Do you think your chances of achieving what’s on the left is better or worse if you stick to what’s on the right?

Most likely, the list on the right is setting healthy constraints that will enhance your chances of success for the things you want on the left. Balance doesn’t mean compromises and trade-offs. It can mean a better approach to getting the best of both worlds because both worlds enhance each other. 😃

Yeah you’re right. It’s at times conflicting, at times mutually reinforcing. Duality.
