January 2026 goals

It’s tempting to want to blast off to the moon right away, on Jan 1st.
It’s tempting to make grand ambitions and big plans for the year.
It’s tempting, very tempting, to say, this year will be different.
But we know it’s all BS.
From real personal experience of setting goals and pursuing them for the year, the data had seldom proved otherwise.
At best is we set a broad intention.
Sometimes we hit it if the starts align.
Most times, life had other plans for you.
We try to steer the ship as best we could.
Nothing more.
I have no goals in mind this month.
But I do know… I didn’t get the rest I wanted in December.
So that’s the goal for January.
Interestingly, it is within routine and consistency that I can rest.
Because when everything runs on autopilot; when there’s less or zero surprises in the daily schedule; when what’s expected is predictable, I know—my body knows—I can truly slow and rest.
And there’s no better way to start a new year truly rested, in a clear state of mind.
Onwards and forwards.
