Less whys

Sometimes things don’t have to make sense.

That’s the hard lesson I’ve been trying to learn and relearn over and over. Pretty difficult for a chronic over-thinker. We just love intellectualising. We simply love asking why why why why why. There’s a lesson, a moral of the story in there somewhere if we looked hard enough. If we reflected deeper. If we asked more whys.

But truth of reality is… not everything has a reason.

In fact, my hot take is: Most things don’t. Most things happen in chaos, end in chaos. There’s no higher force at play. No destiny. No fate. Most things. It just happens. But we being human are meaning-making beings. So we imposed meaning everywhere and on everything. Even when and where there is none whatsoever.

So hard practice, this is.

Less whys, more being.
