Let the soreness begin

The most salient memory I have of past workouts is the soreness afterward. I don't mean the light soreness the same day or even the next day. I get afflicted with delayed-onset muscle soreness (DOMS). Interestingly, I feel the most soreness around my joints and not the muscles themselves. The backs of my knees and inner elbows are barking pretty loudly. And my calves, always the calves.

I was still sore today from my Wednesday workout. I could have used that as an excuse to skip the gym today, but I went anyway. I avoided certain exercises, and for others, I just leaned into the soreness. It wasn't the most pleasant experience, but I did it.

On Monday, I have a "quick start" meeting with a personal trainer for a free assessment. I will get physical measurements with the InBody scan and, presumably, a sales pitch to hire a personal trainer. I don't have the best experience with personal trainers, but I'll keep an open mind. For now, and with the new AI personal trainer agent that I will spin up, I think I'll be able to handle things on my own. I remember enough proper form, and I stick to the machines instead of free weights.
